Hulu No Longer Proceeding With “Don’t Get High” Series

Last year, 20th Television developed a comedy pilot called “Don’t Get High” for Hulu, however, it’s been revealed by Deadline that the show won’t be going ahead.

“Don’t Get High” was going to be about an alpha dork and her merry gang of dweebs starting an anti-drug group at their high school to make friends and influence people. It doesn’t go well.

The cast for this show included Tony Hale, Ashley Brooke, Olivia Gill, Oscar Williams, Erin Morton and Daniel Rosales.

The show was being created by Megan Ganz, who was the writer, executive producer and showrunner, with Adam Fishbach and Mara Herron also executive producing.

Unfortunately, the project will not be proceeding, but it does highlight why Disney has returned to the pilot model, which has been used by the linear studios for years, as it allows them an opportunity to create a test episode to see if its good enough to proceed, or if it needs to be tweaked, or in the worst case scenario, cancelled.

What do you think of this decision not to proceed? Let me know on social media!
