Hulu Developing “What Remains” Series
After working with Disney on “Scandal” and “UnPrisoned”, Kerry Washington is once again gearing up to develop and star in a brand new drama series based on the best-selling thriller novel, “What Remains”, by Wendy Walker.
“What Remains” tells the story of what happens after taking the life of a disturbed man in the line of duty, Detective Elise Sutton – a devoted wife, loving mother, and cold case specialist — reels from the guilt of her actions. To convince herself that she did the right thing, she makes contact with a mysterious man that she saved that day, only to discover that he’s not at all what he seems. She’s soon caught in a dangerous game of cat and mouse, following the clues he leaves for her and realising that the only person who can stop him… is her.
According to Deadline, 20th Television is creating the series with Kapital Entertainment, with Kerry set to star and executive produce, along with Chris Luccy writing the show and McG directing it. They will both be executive producers, along with Pilar Sivone via Simpson Street, Aaron Kaplan for Kapital Entertainment, Mary Viola and Corey Marsh for Wonderland Sound and Vision. Also co-executive producing the show for Hulu is Dylan Hammalian (Kapital Entertainment), Adam Haiken (Wonderland) and Will McDonald (Simpson Street).
Chris Luccy has previously worked on the ABC series, “A Million Little Things”, while McG has worked on the Disney+ Original series, “Turner & Hooch” and the “True Lies” series for 20th Television.
As with all projects in development, it’s important to note that things may change, such as who will star in it and create it. These types of projects sometimes don’t necessarily make it to our screens while going through the development process. It also might be a while until “What Remains” lands onto Hulu or Disney+, so it could be years until we get to see it.
