Last year, Disney announced 20th Animation was developing a brand new series for Disney’s streaming services called “Koala Man”.  The series is being created by “Rick and Morty” and “Solar Opposites” co-creator Justin Roiland and “Smiling Friends” co-creator Michael Cusack.

The series is an animated family comedy where a middle-aged dad named Kevin lives a not-so-secret identity of Koala Man, an Australian suburban superhero with no powers but a burning passion to snuff out petty crime and bring order to the community.

It has been announced that Hugh Jackman will be providing the voice of Big Greg, who is the most well-liked man in Dapto and the head of the Town Council. Big Greg has only known success. Formerly the host of Fishing Big with Big Greg, Australia’s third most popular fishing show, Big Greg has ridden his celebrity into a trusted position in Dapto.

“Koala Man” is being created by Aussie creator/animator Michael Cusack, who also voices the main character. Kevin. “Pokemon: Detective Pikachu” writers Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit are also writing on this project, with Michael Cowap also serving as executive producer.

Hugh Jackman has voiced characters in “Happy Feet,” “Flushed Away” and “Missing Link.”

“Koala Man” will be released on Hulu in the United States and as a Star Original on Disney+ internationally. No release date has been announced yet.
