Last year, Disney announced it was creating a sequel to the popular Disney+ Original film, “Stargirl”, called “Hollywood Stargirl”, and we’ve not really heard too much more about the movie until today.

Disney has recently requested that Hollywood Blvd be closed down on June 1st 2022, so Disney can host a premiere event at the El Capitan Theatre. Usually, premiere events take place one to two weeks before a film’s release on Disney+, making it likely that “Hollywood Stargirl” will arrive on Disney+ at some point in June.

“Hollywood Stargirl” will follow Stargirl’s journey out of Mica, Arizona and into a bigger world of music, dreams and possibility. The film will see Grace VanderWaal return as Stargirl, with Elijah Richardson playing Evan, who is the romantic lead opposite VanderWaal. The script is based on the original character from Jerry Spinelli’s bestselling book.

The cast for this upcoming Disney+ Original includes Judd Hirsch, Tyrel Jackson Willaims, Judy Greer and Uma Thurman.

Hopefully, we will get some more details on “Hollywood Stargirl” soon.

The first “Stargirl” film is available to watch now on Disney+.

Are you looking forward to “Hollywood Stargirl”?
