The fall break finale of the smash-hit hospital drama series, “Grey’s Anatomy” has just been released on ABC and on Hulu in the United States, which has seen Meredith Grey decide to leave the hospital.   Disney has released the midseason trailer for the return of the show, which is returning early next year.

Recipient of the 2007 Golden Globe Award for Best Drama Television Series and nominated for multiple Emmys, including Outstanding Drama Series, “Grey’s Anatomy” is considered one of the great television shows of our time. The high-intensity medical drama, now in its 19th season, follows Meredith Grey and the team of doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial, who are faced with life-or-death decisions daily. They seek comfort from one another, and, at times, more than just friendship. Together they discover that neither medicine nor relationships can be defined in black and white.

In the fall break finale, on the heels of life-changing news, a thunderstorm hits Grey Sloan. The attending surgeons and interns work together to save an injured reporter and family affected by the storm.  Meanwhile, a beloved author undergoes a risky surgery, and complications from the storm arise.

Check out the midseason trailer below:

Ellen Pompeo, who has been playing Meredith for nineteen years, agreed to only appear in eight episodes of the latest season.  The mid-season return will be her seventh episode, so it’s likely we will see the character return one more time, possibly in the season finale.  Pompeo will be filming a brand new series for Hulu/Star, which is the first major acting project she has done outside of “Grey’s Anatomy” since 2005.

“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 19 will be coming back on ABC on February 23rd 2023, with the new episode available the following day on Hulu.  The latest season of “Grey’s Anatomy” is also currently being released weekly on Disney+ in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, but is a few weeks behind, so it’ll take a few more weeks until the mid-season finale is released, so no return date has yet been announced for Disney+ in these countries.
