FX Developing New Limited Series “Dying For Sex”
FX is developing a brand new limited series called “Dying For Sex”, which is based on the hit Wondery podcast, Dying For Sex is the story of a woman diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer who leaves her husband of 15 years and begins to explore her sexuality. She gets the courage and support to go on this adventure from her best friend, who stays by her side all the way to the very end.
The new series is going to star Michelle Williams, who will play the the lead role and she will also be a producer on the FX show. Michelle has previously starred in the FX series “Fosse/Verdon” and the films, “The Greatest Showman”, “Venom” and “Oz the Great and Powerful”.
This brand new series is going to be created by Liz Meriwether (The Dropout) and Kim Rosenstock (Only Murders in the Building), who will be writing, showrunning and executive producing on the show. Other executive producers include Leslye Headland (Acolyte), Katherine Pope, and Nikki Boyer, who is the host and co-creator of the Dying For Sex podcast, and Wondery Inc.
According to Deadline, “Dying For Sex” has been in the works since earlier this year, but due to the actor’s and writer’s strikes, dealmaking had been paused.
As with other FX series, expect this series to be released on FX, along with Disney’s streaming services, Hulu, Star+ and Disney+ around the world.
