Earlier this week, after a brief ten-year hiatus, “Futurama” has crawled triumphantly from the cryogenic tube, with its full original cast and satirical spirit intact, for a brand new season.  The first episode of the eleventh season was released on Monday on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ worldwide.

The series follows Philip J. Fry (Billy West), a New York City pizza delivery boy, who accidentally freezes himself in 1999 and gets defrosted in the year 3000. In this astonishing New New York, he befriends hard-drinking robot Bender (John DiMaggio), and falls in love with cyclops Leela (Katey Sagal). The trio find work at the Planet Express Delivery Company, founded by Fry’s doddering descendant, Professor Hubert Farnsworth. Together with accountant Hermes Conrad, assistant Amy Wong, and alien lobster Dr. John Zoidberg, they embark on thrilling adventures that take them to every corner of the universe.

To tie in with the release of the new series, Epic Games is teasing a new collaboration to bring the world of “Futurama” into the incredibly popular video game, “Fortnite”.  Unfortunately, we don’t yet know what this new crossover will bring, but we will likely see some skins for major characters like Fry, Bender and Leela, in addition to other cool tools, artwork and more.  Disney and Epic have previously teamed up on many times to promote Marvel and Star Wars shows.

A new live stream called “All Glory To The Hypnotoad” has been scheduled for July 26th at 10 am, which will be when we officially find out what’s included in this team-up.

Previous seasons of “Futurama” are available to stream now on Hulu in the United States and Disney+ around the world.
