Disney has announced that a brand new 90-minute Original documentary film called “Flintoff” will be coming to Disney+ in the UK and Ireland later this month.

This new documentary features exclusive access to former international cricketer and broadcast presenter Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff.

The film – produced by South Shore – will look back at Flintoff’s incredible life and cricketing career that saw him win two Ashes series with England and become a national sporting hero, whilst charting his life today and return to cricket following his life-altering car crash in 2022.

Award-winning director John Dower has been granted exclusive access to Freddie over the last year to film his recovery and document his cricketing career.

Freddie Flintoff said in a statement regarding the new documentary:

“Cricket’s always been a massive part of my life, shaping who I am. Looking back on the highs and the lows, including the challenges I’ve faced since my accident, has been a real reminder of why my career in the sport has meant so much.”

The Original documentary film is executive produced by Andrew Mackenzie and Naomi Templeton for South Shore, Freddie Flintoff and executive produced for Disney+ by Sean Doyle, Executive Director, Unscripted, Disney+.

“Flintoff” will premiere exclusively on Disney+ in the UK and Ireland on Friday 25th April 2025.  No other international release details have been announced, but as with other British Originals, I’d expect it also to be eventually released on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ around the world.
