Disney has released a first-look photo from the upcoming comedy series, “Shifting Gears”, which stars Tim Allen as Matt, the stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. When Matt’s estranged daughter (Kat Dennings) and her kids move into his house, the real restoration begins.

The upcoming series will also star Seann William Scott, who will play the role of Gabriel, who works in the shop with Matt.   While Daryl “Chill” Mitchell will play Stitch, Maxwell Simkins is going to portray Carter and Barrett Margolis is going to play Georgia.

Tim Allen executive produces alongside Michelle Nader, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Richard Baker, Rick Messina, John Pasquin, Jim Patterson, Bob Daily and John Amodeo. Pasquin also directed the pilot episode. Mike Scully and Julie Thacker Scully are executive producers on the pilot episode. Kat Dennings is a producer. The ABC series is produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios.

“Shifting Gears” will premiere on ABC on Wednesday 8th January 2025 at 8 pm and new episodes will be available the next day on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+.  The show will be followed by “Abbott Elementary” to make a comedy block on the schedule.   Expect to see “Shifting Gears” released as a Star Original on Disney+ internationally,
