First Look At Chad Michael Murray In “Freaky Friday” Sequel
Filming is currently underway in Los Angeles on a sequel to Disney’s “Freaky Friday”, which will see Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan reprise their roles as Tess and Anna Coleman from the 2003 movie.
A sequel to the beloved 2003 film with a multigenerational twist, the film picks up years after Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) endured an identity crisis. Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.
Disney has released a new behind-the-scenes photo confirming that Chad Michael Murray is also returning as Jake, who was Anna’s boyfriend in the original film.
Other returning cast members from the original film include Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao.
They are joined by Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.
Nisha Ganatra directs the new film, which is being produced by Kristin Burr, Andrew Gunn, and Jamie Lee Curtis, with Nathan Kelly, Ann Marie Sanderlin, and Lindsay Lohan also serving as executive producers.
The sequel will be released in theatres nationwide in 2025, before heading to Disney+ at a later date. The 2003 version, along with other versions of the story are available to stream on Disney+.
