ESPN Jeopardy! Returning For A Second Season
Earlier this summer, Disney released a brand-new spin-off of the popular game show, “Jeopardy!”, but with a sports twist on ESPN, Hulu and Disney+.
The show is hosted by award-winning Monday Night Football commentator Joe Buck and features ESPN commentators and celebrity sports fans competing on the iconic Alex Trebek Stage. With clues spanning the full spectrum of sports and ESPN content, ESPN Jeopardy! will test the knowledge of even the most passionate sports fans. Contestants would represent charities of their choice in a tournament-style competition for a $500,000 grand prize and the title of ESPN Jeopardy! champion.
Following the release of the first season, it’s been confirmed that the show will be returning for a second season; however, it will have a major twist, as the celebrities are being replaced with normal sports fans and will now be competing against each other to win a $300,000 prize.
“ESPN Jeopardy!” is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Michael Davies, who serves as executive producer on the main Jeopardy!.
All episodes from the first season are available to stream on Disney+, Hulu, and the ESPN App in the United States.
No doubt this second season will be much cheaper to produce than the first, as the price fund is already $200,000 cheaper, and they won’t need to pay or incur the same costs to host the “sports fans” as they would for celebrities. It will also add more pressure on the contestants to bring more to their game, when that much money is on the line.
