Just ahead of the release of “Disenchanted” on Disney+ on Friday, 18th November 2022, Disney has given a visual upgrade to the classic 2007 musical film, “Enchanted”, providing a 4K version of the film.
In “Enchanted”, the story follows, the princess-to-be Giselle, who’s life is a fairy tale…until she’s banished from the animated land of Andalasia by an evil queen and thrust into the very unmagical, live-action world of modern-day Manhattan. When a cynical, no-nonsense divorce lawyer comes to her aid, little does he realize that this joyful, wide-eyed innocent is about to enchant him.
The original film stars Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Idina Menzel, and James Marsden, who will also be returning for “Disenchanted”, which is set 15 years since the original film. In the new film, Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city, so they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life. Unfortunately, it isn’t the quick fix she had hoped for. Suburbia has a whole new set of rules and a local queen bee, Malvina Monroe (Maya Rudolph), who makes Giselle feel more out of place than ever. Frustrated that her happily ever after hasn’t been so easy to find, she turns to the magic of Andalasia for help, accidentally transforming the entire town into a real-life fairy tale and placing her family’s future happiness in jeopardy. Now, Giselle is in a race against time to reverse the spell and determine what happily ever after truly means to her and her family.
