Deadline has revealed that Emily Furutani, who was the director of Comedy Development for Universal Television, has now moved over to Disney and will be Hulu Originals Vice President of Comedy.

Over the past few years, Hulu has been releasing lots of different comedy series, including “Only Murders In The Building”, “This Fool”, and “How I Met Your Father”. These have also been released as Star Originals on Disney+ internationally, and what shows are developed by Emily Furutani, will likely also be released on Disney+ around the world.

While working at Universal Television, Emily Furutani, has worked on a number of different shows, including “Never Have I Ever”, “Magnum, P.I”, “Lopez vs Lopez” and “Primo”. She started working at NBCU International in 2015, before moving over to the current programming at Universal Television, where she rose to manager and then director of development on the comedy development team.

She will report into Billy Rosenberg, the Head of Comedy for Hulu Originals.
