One of the upcoming Marvel Studios projects currently in development for Disney+ is “Ironheart”, which will star Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor who builds her own advanced suit of armour and follows in Iron Man’s footsteps.  Also starring in the Disney+ is Anthony Ramos, Harper Anthony, and Lyric Ross.

It has previously been reported that filming is due to begin in June, but according to Filming in Chicago , the new Marvel series “Ironheart” was filming in Chicago over the weekend. It’s likely that with they either filming test shots or B roll/plate shots.

The new Disney+ series is going to be directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes.  It was also recently revealed that “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler and his production company, Proximity, are producing the series. Riri Williams will be introduced in the upcoming sequel film, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, which is coming to cinemas in November 2022.

Also producing the series for Disney+ will be Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian and Chinaka Hodge, alongside Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, and Zoie Nagelhout. Chinaka Hodge is also the head writer on the Disney+ series.

With filming scheduled to be taking place over the summer, it’s likely that we won’t see the “Ironheart” series on Disney+ until the second half of 2023.  Though no official release date has yet been confirmed and generally Disney doesn’t confirm release dates until much nearer the time.

    Yes! Really looking forward to both this and Armor Wars. We haven't heard much about either one of them since they were announced, but I think we're about due for some more good old fashioned armored suits!!
