The BBC has announced details on the upcoming season finale of the second season of the iconic British sci-fi series, “Doctor Who”, which will air exclusively in a primetime evening slot on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK, and simultaneously on Disney+ outside of the UK including the United States, Canada and Australia on Saturday 31st May 2025.

It’s also been announced that the finale will also be released in over 450 cinemas across the UK & Ireland.

“Doctor Who” follows the Doctor, who meets Belinda Chandra and begins an epic quest to get her back to Earth. But a mysterious force is stopping their return, and the time-travelling TARDIS team must face great dangers, bigger enemies and wilder terrors than ever before.

The season finale is called “Titled The Reality War” and fans across the globe will be able to all watch together as the Doctor faces one of his most terrifying and monumental battles to date in an extra-special-length episode.  “Doctor Who” stars Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor, Varada Sethu as Belinda Chandra, and Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday.

Russell T Davies, Showrunner, said in a statement:

“The Doctor is doomed, Belinda is lost, Ruby is trapped, UNIT is powerless, the Unholy Trinity rule supreme and the Underverse is rising. And now we can all experience this devastating climax together, all at the same time, with a unique worldwide premiere. I can promise shocks, scares and revelations off the scale. Come and have fun!”

“Doctor Who” is produced by Bad Wolf with BBC Studios for the BBC and Disney Branded Television.  The BBC will confirm the exact transmission time in due course.

The previous episodes of the latest season of “Doctor Who”, plus the first season, along with the Christmas and 60th Annviersary specials are available to stream on iPlayer in the UK and on Disney+ around the world.
