Disney has revealed the title of the upcoming “Doctor Who Holiday Special”, which will be released on Christmas Day, December 25th 2023, on Disney+ worldwide and on the BBC in the UK and Ireland.

The new holiday special is going to be called “The Church On Ruby Road”, and this will be the first full episode of “Doctor Who” with Ncuti Gatwa as the new Doctor and Millie Gibson playing his new companion, Ruby.  Unfortunately, we don’t know too much about this new festive special yet, as the focus is on upcoming 60th-anniversary specials.

“Doctor Who” is about a mysterious 2,000-year-old time traveller who, along with his companion, journey across time and space in a ship known as TARDIS.

This November, the show is celebrating its 60th anniversary, and just before the Christmas special, “Doctor Who” will return in November 2023 with three special episodes with David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor to coincide with the 60th anniversary.   Following the Christmas Special, a brand new season will debut in 2024, and the next season is already filming in the UK.

The Christmas Day special has been a major tradition for the BBC since 2005 and is one of the highest-rated shows in the UK over the festive period.
