Disney’s Live-Action”Moana” Coming Soon To Digital/4K/Blu-Ray/DVD

Disney has announced details on the upcoming home video release of the live-action reimagining of the classic animated film, “Moana”, which will arrive on digital platforms and physical media later this year.

In Disney’s live-action reimagining of the beloved animated adventure, Moana (Catherine Lagaʻaia) answers the Ocean’s call and, for the first time, voyages beyond the reef of her island of Motunui with the infamous demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson) on an unforgettable journey to restore prosperity to her people.

The home video release will include many exclusive bonus features that extend the fun beyond the film, including a sing-along version of the movie, a behind-the-scenes look at costume designer Liz McGregor’s work and exclusive interviews with the cast and filmmakers. The digital and Blu-ray release also includes an up-close look at the film’s choreography, the making of the village of Motunui and more, offering laughs, surprises and an exclusive look at the world-building of “Moana.” 

“Moana” will be arriving on premium digital platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango on September 8th 2026.  While the film will arrive on physical media formats including  4KUltra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD on October 6th 2026.

Also arriving on October 6th 2026 is a limited-edition 4K UHD SteelBook, with special packaging featuring Dwayne Johnson as the shape-shifting demigod Maui and breakout star Catherine Lagaʻaia as the fearless wayfinder Moana, alongside her pet pig, Pua, and her perpetually confused rooster, Heihei.

As with any theatrical release, expect to see the live-action version of “Moana” arrive on Disney+ around the same time as when the film is released on physical formats in October.

• Move As One – Choreographer Tiana Nonosina Liufau returns to the world of “Moana” after contributing choreography to the original animated film.
• Island Fashion – Costume designer Liz McGregor is tasked with translating the iconic costumes from the animated film into live-action.
• Voices Return – Lin-Manuel Miranda reunites with longtime collaborators Mark Mancina and Opetaia Foaʻi to bring the music of “Moana” into live-action, reimagining both the original songs everyone loves and a new song “Along The Way.”
