Disney Wins Four Critics Choice Documentary Awards
This past Sunday evening, the Critics Choice Association announced the winners of the Ninth Annual Critics Choice Documentary Awards at a gala event in New York City.
Disney had a successful evening, pulling in four awards, including Best Music Documentary for the recent Disney+ Original film, “Music By John Williams”, and National Geographic’s “Sugarcane”, which won two awards for Best Political Documentary and Best True Crime Documentary. ESPN’s 30 For 30 also won the Best Ongoing Documentary series award.
The biggest winners of the night were “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story” and “Will & Harper”, which tied for the top award of the evening, Best Documentary Feature.
The Critics Choice Documentary Awards are an offshoot of the Critics Choice Awards, which are bestowed annually by the CCA to honour the finest in cinematic and television achievement. Historically, the Critics Choice Awards are the most accurate predictor of Academy Award nominations.
