With the upcoming live-action reimagining of the animated classic, “Lilo & Stitch” hitting cinemas in May, Disney has announced it will also be re-releasing the original animated film on physical media including 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray.

With stunning watercolor backgrounds setting the tropical tone, this heartwarming and humor-filled adventure follows a lovable – but mischievous – out-of-this-world creature and his adoptive Hawaiian family. Originally released in 2002 by Walt Disney Animation Studios, this ‘cute and fluffy’ classic has won more devoted fans than Lilo has delivered peanut butter sandwiches to Pudge!
 
And this summer, Lilo & Stitch returns to the big screen with the highly anticipated live-action reimagining, landing exclusively in theaters on May 23, 2025.
 
Disney’s Lilo & Stitch 4K Blu-ray invites audiences to ride a wave of bonus features, including deleted scenes, extra Elvis tunes, and a look at how Stitch might have popped into other Disney classics. And just as “‛ohana means family…and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten,” Lilo & Stitch” remains a timeless animated adventure, meant to be cherished and remembered by fans of all ages!

Hopefully, with the new 4K version of the film being released, Disney will eventually update the version available on Disney+, likely months after the physical media release.

The new “Lilo & Stitch” will be released on 4K Blu-ray on May 6th 2025, with the live-action adaptation hitting cinemas on May 23rd, 2025.
