Disney has announced that following the successful ad-tier launch in the U.S for Disney+, that a new ad-tier will be introduced in the UK and in select countries across Europe in November, giving consumers more ways to subscribe than ever before and the ultimate flexibility in selecting a subscription plan that suits their needs.

From November 1st 2023, the new Standard with Ads, in addition to Standard and Premium subscription plans, will be available in the following countries: United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

The Standard with Ads, Standard, and Premium plans in the UK and selected European countries will offer access to the Disney+ vast array of shows and movies along with key product features, including:

• Exclusive Originals & Library Content: A collection of thousands of award-winning titles across films, documentaries, TV series, and shorts, all in one place.
• Parental controls: Disney+ offers multiple parental control features for your use with our service, including content ratings, kid’s profiles, and profile PINs. Please let us know if you would like more information.
• Profiles: Ability to create multiple profiles per account, with the option to set profile PINs and content ratings by profile through Parental Controls.
• Concurrent Viewing: Stream on up to four supported devices simultaneously, depending on your plan.
• High-Quality Video Formats: Depending on your plan, formats include 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, Full HD, HDR10, and Expanded Aspect Ratio with IMAX Enhanced where supported.

Currently, every subscriber in the UK and Europe is currently on, what is going to become the Premium tier, so in November, subscribers will need to choose to either pay more to stay on the same plan, or downgrade to Standard, which basically means, no 4K and only two screens can play at once, but its the same price as now or go to the even cheaper ad-supported tier.

In the UK, the Disney+ Subscription plans available from November 1st 2023 are:

Disney has also announced the prices for the rest of Europe, which will apply to new customers starting from November 1st

Existing customers will remain in their current subscription, which will be renamed Disney+ Premium and will have the option to switch to Standard Plan or Standard with Ads Plan (except where noted). Existing customers who choose not to switch will be billed the new price starting from their next billing cycle on or after December 6th.

^ Existing customers in Germany will remain in their current subscription (including the current price but this is subject to change in future) from November 1, which will be renamed Disney+ Premium. Existing customers will have the option to switch to Standard with Ads Plan.

And here is the new pricing for Disney+ for the rest of Europe that will apply for new customers from November 1st 2023 and in the billing for existing customers on or after December 6th except where noted.

^^Existing customers in Austria new pricing will come into effect on their next billing cycle on or after January 10, 2024
