A few weeks ago, Disney teased a new collaboration with Miley Cyrus on social media, by tweeting the words “I can buy myself flowers” and just a couple of weeks later, a brand new Disney+ Original special, “Miley Cyrus ‒ Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions) was released.

And today, Disney has teased another new collaboration, by tweeting the words “Plus meets Subtract”. This looks to be a hint at a possible new Disney+ Original featuring the British musician, Ed Sheeran, since his first album was called + (plus) and his next album is called – (subtract), which is coming out on May 5th 2023 and the first single from the album, “Eye’s Closed” is due to be released on March 24th 2023.

This isn’t the only evidence of this upcoming Disney+ Original, as Ed Sheeran’s official Twitter account has also retweeted the Disney+ tweet.

Disney has had lots of success with teaming up with popular artists, having previously released originals featuring Elton John, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Bille Ellish, and Miley Cyrus. Only last week, a special featuring Bono and Edge from U2 was released globally on the platform.

We don’t know exactly what this new Disney+ Original with Ed Sheeran is going to be. A live performance of one of his concerts, a documentary, or a special recording of his new album, with some of his greatest hits thrown in, but it’s likely we will find out soon.
