Disney+ Reveals New German Original Slate
This week, Disney took part in the Series Mania trade event in Germany this week, where it revealed details on its upcoming German Original slate for Disney+.
Disney has been investing in many European originals and has already had great success with some German original series, including “Sam – A Saxon”, “Pauline” and “The Interpreter of Silence”.
The upcoming lineup of German Disney+ Originals includes a new reality series called “Yacht Deals Monaco” and some drama shows such as “City Of Blood”, “Vienna Game” and “Westwell”. They are all being released under the Hulu brand, which recently launched around the world late last year.
“Yacht Deals Monaco” is a new competition show involving would-be ship sellers trying to land a job with a top yacht broker on the Côte d’Azur. It will be dropping onto Disney+.
“City Of Blood” is a new supernatural thriller, which is based on the graphic novel, “Berlinoir”, by Reinhard Kleist and Tobias O. Meißner. The show is set in an alternative Berlin run by immortal vampires and will be coming to Disney+ on September 16th 2026.
“Vienna Game” it will be dropping onto Disney+ in November. The six-part series is produced by Bettina Kuhn for Satel Film and written by co-creator Stefan Brunner. The show invites audiences to the infamous Congress of Vienna – an opulent, ecstatic party that lasted nine months and that led to a century of peace in Europe for the first time. It is a political game of luck, money, love, and power against the spectacular backdrop of Vienna.
Other original shows include a young adult series, “Westwell”, which is based on the books by Lena Kiefer and is being made by Warner Bros ITVP Germany. The story primarily follows the intense, forbidden romance between Helena Weston and Jessiah Coldwell, two individuals whose families are locked in a bitter feud following a shared tragedy
Another new show is called “Monster” and is based on Nele Neuhaus’ crime novel. It is being created by W&B Television. Filming began back in January and is currently scheduled to arrive on Disney+ in 2027. It tells the story of what happens after a gruesome discovery: the body of a 16-year-old girl is found in a field, her throat brutally slashed. The victim, Larissa, was a teenager with a complicated life, but the method of her murder points toward something much more calculated than a random act of violence.
