Disney+ Reveals New French Original Series “Lucky Luke”

Disney has announced details of a brand new French original series called “Lucky Luke”, which will be coming to Disney+ in France in the spring of 2026.

“Lucky Luke” stars Alban Lenoir and tells the story of the legendary, lonely cowboy who must help Louise, an eighteen-year-old girl as endearing as she is unpredictable. Together, they embark on a quest across the Wild West to find Louise’s mother, who has mysteriously disappeared… while thwarting a plot that could change the course of U.S. history! Between duels, chases, furious balls and unexpected alliances with the Daltons, Billy the Kid or Calamity Jane, our unlikely duo will discover that the biggest challenge is not to save America… but to team up! A thrilling adventure where the man who shoots faster than his shadow will have to face the ghosts of his past and confront the origins of his legend.

Also starring in the series will be Billie Blain (“The Animal Kingdom”, “The Holy Family”), who will play the role of Louise.  Alice Taglioni, Jérôme Nie, Camille Chamoux,  and Victor Le Blond, will also star in the show.

The show has been inspired by the comic strip Lucky Luke created by Morris in 1949 and over the years has appeared in 82 volumes, which have been translated into 36 different languages.  The comic strip is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2026.   There have already been a few different movie adaptations of this classic European comic.

This series has been created by Federation Studio France in co-production with Un Pour Tous Productions,

“Lucky Luke” will debut on Disney+ in the spring of 2026, before airing on France Télévisions.  It’s unclear whether the series will also be released on Disney+ outside France.
