During Disney’s 2024 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, CEO Bob Iger revealed a brand new image from the upcoming all-new epic animated musical, “Moana 2”, which is being created by Walt Disney Animation Studios.

This new film will be set three years after the events of the first film and will see Moana go on an expansive journey in search of people beyond the shores of Motunui.

Joined by Maui and a brand-new crew of unlikely seafarers, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.

Here’s a look at the new image of “Moana 2”:

It was also confirmed that the original movie voices, Auli‘i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson, will return to provide the voices of Moana and Maui.

“Moana 2” will be coming to cinemas on November 27th, 2024, and we should expect to see the film released on Disney+ in 2025.  Originally the project was announced to be a Disney+ series, but earlier this year, it was revealed the project had been changed to a theatrical release.
