Disney has announced that it has re-upped its first-look deal with comedy production company American High to produce original films for Hulu.

American High is an innovative production company specializing in provocative teen comedies and is behind a number of original films, including “It’s A Wonderful Binge”, “Crush”, “Sex Appeal”, and “The Binge”, which have been released exclusively on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ internationally.   They are also behind some other Hulu Original films, including “Plan B” and “The Ultimate Playlist Of Noise”.

The deal was originally signed in 2019, and Jason Zaro (Brigsby Bear) will serve as co-producer across the new slate of films for Hulu.   It wasn’t confirmed in the announcement if future releases will also be available on Disney+ internationally.

The next film to be released under the deal is American High’s “Miguel Wants to Fight”,  which is a coming-of-age comedy about a 17-year-old who asks his three best friends to help him get in his first fight ever before he moves to a new city. Miguel Wants to Fight stars Tyler Dean Flores, Imani Lewis, Christian Vunipola, Suraj Partha and Raul Castillo.

Re-upping this deal will provide Hulu with more original programming that Disney’s own studios haven’t created.
