Disney has announced that it will be re-releasing the iconic fantasy epic, “Willow” on 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook and digital platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home, on December 10th 2024,

From legendary filmmakers George Lucas and Ron Howard comes Willow, a timeless fantasy tale where heroes come in all sizes. When Willow Ufgood (Warwick Davis) finds an abandoned baby girl, he learns she is destined to end the reign of wicked Queen Bavmorda. Willow teams up with a rogue swordsman (Val Kilmer) to protect the child against the darkness. It’s the ultimate story of good versus evil — with magic and danger.

The film was nominated for two Oscars, including Best Effects, Sound Effects Editing and Best Effects, Visual Effects.

Roger’s Take: For physical media collectors, this is a real bonus, but no doubt, this is going to bring in many comments from “Willow” fans who would also love to be able to own the Disney+ Original series that was “deleted” from the streamin service last year.
