Google has released its list of the top trending searches of 2019 in the US and Disney+ (Disney Plus) came out at the top of the charts.

The top five trending searches of 2019 in the US are:

  • Disney Plus
  • Cameron Boyce
  • Nipsey Hussle
  • Hurricane Dorian
  • Antonio Brown

With Baby Yoda also topping the list of the most search item related to babies and the Mandalorian being the fifth most search TV show of the year.

Disney also did well with regards to movies, with Avengers: Endgame, The Lion King, Toy Story 4 and Captain Marvel being in the top 5 searches of the year, alongside DC’s Joker.

There was a huge spike in searches in November around the launch of Disney+, though that might have also been caused by the huge number of problems people were having with the new app within the launch period.

Due to Disney+ only being released in a select few countries, it wasn’t the number one search globally, though it did rank as the ninth most searched word in New Zealand.

Disney+ has had an incredible launch and this information from Google shows that interest in the new streaming app is very high.

Did you do a search for Disney+ this year?
