Today, Disney has confirmed that the Disney+ Original series ‘Big Shot’ will be returning for a second season.

The announcement was made by John Stamos, who plays Coach Korn in the series, where he attempted to shoot a basketball through a hoop.

“This show represents everything Disney is to me – family, inclusion, and unity.  But at its core, @BigShotSeries is about guts and heart, and that is what Disney + demonstrated by giving us a second season.  I am sending lots of love to the critics and fans that got up on their feet and cheered for us from the sidelines. I’m so grateful to continue to play Coach Korn, a man who learns to let go of pre-conceived judgements and learns from an incredible group of women, helping him to evolve and grow. And yet, he still has so much more to learn…thankfully he’ll get that chance in season two. #grateful,” said John Stamos.

The first season is available on Disney+ now and tells the story of Coach Korn, who, after getting ousted from the NCAA, a men’s basketball coach, is given a chance for redemption with a coaching position at an elite private high school. He soon learns that the teenage players require empathy and vulnerability — foreign concepts for the stoic Coach Korn (John Stamos). By learning how to connect with his players, Marvyn starts to grow into the person he’s always hoped to be. The girls learn to take themselves more seriously, finding their footing both on and off the court.

The second season will resume production in 2022.  Dean Lorey will also be returning as showrunner.

No other details have yet been revealed about the second season, such as a plot, cast or when it will be coming back on Disney+.

Personally, this is great news as I think ‘Big Shot’ is the best ‘Disney’ branded drama series on the streaming service.
