Following on from the success of the launch of Disney+ Originals, “Welcome To Wrexham”, “Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story” and “Save Our Squad With David Beckham”, Disney is now in advance talks to buy a documentary series about Liverpool Football Club manager’s Jurgen Klopps final six months at Anfield.

Filming on the project began in December and the series will take a broader look at the Football club, along with their interactions with fans and the larger Liverpool community, rather than being focused purely on members of the team.

The Mail has reported that the project has been pitched to several different outlets, including Sky Sports and TNT Sports, who have said that the asking price was too high for a documentary and those platforms are more focused on live sports.

Amazon has also rejected the change to buy the documentary due to concerns about having limited access to the dressing room, which was a major issue during the filming of the “All Or Nothing” series, where the manager wanted reassurances that the camera crews would not follow his players in the dressing room or other private areas.

Netflix has also expressed reservations, leading to Disney+ being the only platform still interested in the project.  But the deal hasn’t yet been finalised.

It’s expected that the documentary will raise about £10 million for Liverpool Football Club, though, with less interest from other parties, this does potentially give Disney some more wriggle room for negotiations.   But Liverpool viewed this offer as too good to turn down since there would be limited demands on Kloop and the rest of the squad.
