Just ahead of the release of the new Disney+ Original series, “Star Wars: The Acolyte”, Disney held a special UK premiere on Tuesday evening at Odeon Luxe in London’s Leicester Square.

In “The Acolyte,” an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems.

The event was hosted by Yinka Bokinni and included an on stage introduction, with show creator Leslye Headland and cast Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Rebecca Henderson and our first live-action Wookie Jedi, Kelnacca.

The new series stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss.

“The Acolyte” has been created by Leslye Headland, who directed the first two episodes and also who serves as an executive producer along with Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King and Jason Micallef. Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana are the co-executive producers. Rayne Roberts, Damian Anderson, Eileen Shim and Rob Bredow are the producers. Also directing the series are Kogonada, Alex Garcia Lopez and Hanelle Culpepper. With Michael Abels composing the score to the series.

“The Acolyte” will be exclusively streaming on Disney+ from June 5th in the UK.
