Disney Hosts “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” Fan Events Around The World On Star Wars Day

To celebrate Star Wars Day, Disney hosted some special fan events for the upcoming original film, “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu,” at select IMAX theaters around the world.

In the new movie, the evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu.

In Los Angeles, co-writer/producer and Lucasfilm president and chief creative officer Dave Filoni made a surprise appearance at AMC The Grove 14 to introduce the screening and chat with fans. In New York, The Mandalorian himself, was joined by Grogu at the AMC Lincoln Square 13 to introduce the screening and pose for photos.

Meanwhile, in Berlin, Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, and director/co-writer/producer Jon Favreau were at the city’s UCI Luxe Cinemas for a special footage screening for over 1,000 attendees, before participating in a photo stunt with fans on the city’s Spree River. And last week, Favreau was in Madrid for a fan event and photo call at Cine Callao, the city’s historic Art Deco cinema.

Here are some photos from some of the fan events:

Directed by Jon Favreau, “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” is written by Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni & Noah Kloor, and is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Ian Bryce, Jon Favreau, and Dave Filoni, with Karen Gilchrist, John Bartnicki, and Carrie Beck serving as executive producers. The music is composed by Ludwig Göransson.

“Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” opens exclusively in theaters May 22nd, 2026 and will be coming to Disney+ later this year.
