Disney+ Hosts Special Screening Of “The Beatles Anthology” In London
Just ahead of the release of “The Beatles Anthology” on Disney+ over the Thanksgiving weekend, Disney hosted a special screening event at the BFI Southbank in London, England.
The event was attended by Joanna Lumley, Richard Curtis, Felix White and The Beatles family members, Olivia Harrison, Jay Starkey, Mary McCartney, Lee Starkey and more.
The event was held in association with The Rest Is History, and was attended by a number of VIP guests across music and entertainment including Griff Rhys Jones, Sir Tony Robinson, John Simm, Gary Kemp, Tim McInnerny and Apple Corps CEO, Tom Greene.
Hosted by author and journalist, Caitlin Moran, guests were treated to a special post-screening Q&A with The Beatles super-fans: actor, Joanna Lumley; screenwriter and director, Richard Curtis; musician, Felix White, and director of episode 9 Oliver Murray.
“The Beatles Anthology”, the landmark documentary series, explores the life and times of the most influential and beloved band of all time, as told by The Beatles themselves. Beautifully restored and expanded from eight to nine episodes, the series offers an unprecedented and intimate view of The Beatles’ legendary trajectory and inner workings.
The newly illuminating ninth episode features previously unreleased footage of Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr during the creation of the original 1990s “Anthology” series and music project.

The series spans the band’s gritty, hungry early days, to the phenomenon of Beatlemania and global superstardom. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr take us along for the ride as they revisit the highs and lows and twists and turns of The Beatles’ long and winding eight years as a band. “The Beatles Anthology” was originally broadcast in 1995 in the U.S. on ABC and in the U.K. on ITV, followed by a blockbuster, GRAMMY Award-winning home video release. For Disney+, several elements of the series have been updated, including an incredible footage restoration and sound mix overseen by the Apple Corp. production team working with the supremely skilled technicians at Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post in Wellington, New Zealand.
“The Beatles Anthology” episode 9 is directed by Oliver Murray. Episodes 1-8 are directed by Geoff Wonfor, Bob Smeaton, and Mah Longfellow. All episodes are produced by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison, Sean Ono Lennon, Jonathan Clyde, and Martin R. Smith.
The first three episodes of “The Beatles Anthology” will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on November 26th 2025, with three more episodes dropping on November 27th 2025 and November 28th 2025.
