Disney Hosts “Project Runway” Launch Event In New York

Later this month, “Project Runway” returns for its 21st season on Freeform, Hulu and Disney+, with Heidi Klum returning as host, with former winner Christian Siriano returning as mentor, Nina Garcia returning as judge, and fashion trailblazer Law Roach joining the panel as the newest judge. 

Disney hosted a special premiere event on Wednesday evening on July 16th at a trendy, upscale restaurant called The Corner Store in Soho New York.  The event saw Christian Siriano and Law Roach celebrate the new show, along with Debra Messing, Laverne Cox, Evan Ross Katz, Vivian Tu and more attended the intimate dinner, bringing together some of the top content creators, pop culture voices and style influencers shaping fashion and entertainment. 

Photographer Myles Hendrik captured photos of guests as they mixed and mingled with the cast and enjoyed dinner, drinks and a drawing of themselves in their stylish looks by sketch artist Deanna First.

When “Project Runway” debuted in 2004, the series broke new ground and helped revolutionise the reality competition genre. Since then, “Project Runway” has aired in more than 125 countries.

The long-standing series has had a profound effect on the fashion industry, launching the careers of prolific designers, including Christian Siriano, Austin Scarlett, Leanne Marshall, Irina Shabayeva, Michael Costello and Bishme Cromartie, among many others. 

“Project Runway” is produced by Spyglass Media Group and Alfred Street Industries. Gary Barber and Sean Hoagland serve as executive producers for Spyglass. Dan Cutforth, Jane Lipsitz, Nan Strait, Dan Volpe, Michael Rucker, and San Heng serve as executive producers for Alfred Street Industries.  Klum, Siriano, and Garcia also serve as executive producers. 

Season 21 of “Project Runway” debuts with a two-episode premiere on Freeform, Hulu and Disney+ on Thursday, 31st July 2025, with new episodes being released each week.  No international Disney+ release details have been announced yet.
