Today, Turkey’s Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has awarded Disney+ a 10-year licence to operate in the country.

A meeting took place today and means that Disney+ has been given the green light for a launch in the country.

This news aligns with some new job vacancies that have been listed for Turkey in the past week for a Disney+ Performance Marketing Manager and a Disney+ Merchandising Supervisor, both of these jobs are located in Istanbul.

Whoever, gets those jobs will be working alongside other EMEA Content Merchandisers to successfully launch the Disney+ service in Turkey. Post-launch, the role will be responsible for regular content maintenance and publishing updates, and maintaining the editorial tone of voice for the EMEA services. The focus of the Merchandising Supervisor role is to ensure the Disney+ services in Turkey are up to date with the latest new content made available through our delivery workflow.

In 2022, Disney is planning on launching its new streaming service in many countries and this follows a similar pattern of new job vacancies hinting at an upcoming launch.

While no official launch date has been confirmed for Turkey, this news should hopefully mean Disney fans in Turkey will soon be able to watch Disney+.

Are you looking forward to the launch of Disney+ in Turkey?
