Disney+ Adds User-Generated Content From Pocket.Watch
Disney has added a brand new collection onto Disney+ called “Creators Collection By Pocket.watch” in the United States, bringing a wide selection of specially selected creator-generated content from Pocket.Watch, which is described as a digital-first studio building franchises for the next generation of families: a fresh, industry-disrupting approach to forging franchises for Generation Alpha. We are the only kids and family digital-focused studio that delivers 7.4 billion views every month.
The company licenses out content to a variety of streaming services, as it looks to take popular user-generated content from YouTube and distribute it to a larger audience.
All of the initial wave of content from Pocket.Watch is generally themed around the recent “Lilo & Stitch” movie, so there does look to be some curation of content from the vast Pocket.Watch library, so we should expect to see more added to Disney+ soon.
The collection includes:
- Why Experiment 626 Became Stitch
- Who is Dr Hamsterviel?
- Wait.. Remember Lilo & Stitch The Series
- Unboxing a full case of Lilo & Stitch Funko Mystery Minis
- Top 10 Differences Between Lilo & Stitch 2002 vs 2025
- My Entire Lilo & Stitch Funko Pop Collection
- How To Bake A Stitch Cake
- Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride – Disney Cover Song
- How Lilo & Stitch Live Action Compares To The Original
- How Stitch Got His Voice
- And much more.
You’ll find the “Creators Collection” available within the All Collections section on the Search tab within Disney+. Currently, this selection of content is only available on Disney+ in the United States.
Roger’s Take: Disney has been making major steps to mix-up what content it provides for its viewers, especially as audience trends change and while many parents won’t want the vast amount of content from YouTube to be available on Disney+, from a creators point of view, if the videos are good enough to meet Disney’s standards, it makes sense to see if they can license them to make extra revenue. I’ve zero doubt that Disney+ will ever fully embrace user-generated content like YouTube or TikTok, but it does offer some content that appeals to younger audiences, at a fraction of the cost of making anything on the Disney Channel.
