Diego Luna Confirms New Disney+ Star Wars”Rogue One” Prequel Series Starts Filming Later This Year
While promoting the second season of Narcos: Mexico, actor Diego Luna, spoke with Entertainment Tonight about his upcoming Disney+ Original series, based on his Captain Cassian Andor character from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The series was originally scheduled to start filming last year, but was delayed.
He has once again confirmed that:
“Yes, we are doing it. We are doing it this year. It’s happening, and I’m getting ready for it.”
Diego also confirmed that he knows “very little” about what’s in store, but that he has read some scripts. “I’m really excited”. And added:
“I can’t wait. It is really cool to tell a story where you already know the ending. It is a different approach because of the beauty and it’s how things happen. It’s not just what happens. It’s not the typical way of approaching a story. It’s about how things happen, which in fact, is the same that happened in Rogue One. You know the ending, but you don’t know how it happened, and we have that challenge in front of us again, which is exciting.”
This new Rogue One prequel series will show how Captain Cassian Endor and K2SO got involved in the Rebellion against the Galactic Empire.
No release date for the upcoming Rogue One spin-off show has yet been announced.
