Davionte “GaTa” Ganter Developing New Animated Series “Ghetto Brilliance”
FX’s “Dave” star Davionte “GaTa” Ganter has revealed over the weekend that he is working with Disney’s Onyx Collective to develop a brand new animated series called “Ghetto Brilliance”, which is also the same name as his 2017 album.
The new animated series is based on GaTa’s life growing up in South Central and the show was revealed as part of Deadline‘s Contender’s TV panel about the FX series, where GaTa said:
“I’m working on this cartoon right now, it’s in development with Onyx Collective and it’s gonna be amazing, it’s called Ghetto Brilliance. I just want to say this bro, I’m really living my dreams bro. I’m performing at Lollapalooza, I just had a sold out show, and [Lil] Dicky was my hype man,”
The new animated series is being written and executive produced by Maxwell Theodore Vivian, who has previously worked on “Upload” and “American Auto”.
Other executive producers on the series include 3 Arts’ Ari Lubet and Jermaine Johnson alongside Vivian, Mike Hertz and Daniel C. Katz. Davionte “GaTa” Ganter is also an executive producer on the show.
20th Television is creating the series and producing it in association with 3 Arts.
Disney’s Onyx Collective, won the project in a highly competitive process.
