Following on from the news that Timothy Olyphant has joined the cast of the upcoming FX series, “Alien”, Deadline has also revealed that David Rysdahl has joined the cast of the upcoming show.

The brand new series is set not too far into our future, and it’s the first Alien story set on Earth. It blends both the timeless horror of the first “Alien” film with the non-stop action of the second and will take place before Ripley.

The cast of “Alien” also includes Sydney Chandler (Pistol), Alex Lawther (Star Wars: Andor), Samuel Blenkin (Black Mirror), Kit Young (Shadow And Bone), Essie Davis (Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries) and Adarsh Gourav (The White Tiger).

Filming on the new “Alien” series is set to resume after the holidays in Bangkok, Thailand, following a delay during the actor’s strike.

David Rysdahl has previously worked on the Hulu/Disney+ Original film, “No Exit” and one of this year’s biggest hits, “Oppenheimer”. David has also previously worked on the fifth season of FX’s “Fargo”, which was also created by Noah Hawley, who is also the creator of the new “Alien” series.

The new “Alien” series was initially announced at Disney’s Investor Day event in 2020 and will be coming to Disney’s streaming services, including Hulu, Star+, and Disney+ in 2025, as long as there are no more delays.

While we wait for the new “Alien” series, 20th Century Studios will release a new film called “Alien: Romulus” in cinemas in August 2024.

Previous “Alien” films are available to stream now on Hulu and on Disney+ in many countries, including the UK, Canada and Australia.
