Conan O’Brien Joins Pixar’s “Toy Story 5”
The next instalment in the iconic Pixar franchise, “Toy Story” is currently in production, which will see Tom Hanks and Tim Allen return as Woody and Buzz Lightyear.
The new film will tell the story of what happens when Toy meets Tech when Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang’s jobs get exponentially harder as they go head to head with this all-new threat to playtime.
During the Consumer Products section of Disney’s Licensing Expo presentation, it was revealed that Conan O’Brien has joined the cast and will be playing the role of a new character called Smartypants. Conan took to social media to confirm the news.
“These films are amazing. I can’t believe this.”
Also starring in “Toy Story 5” will be Ernie Hudson, who will be taking over the role of Combat Carl from the late Carl Weathers. Anna Faris has also joined the cast in an undisclosed part and it is expected that Joan Cusack will be reprising her role as Jessie.
The upcoming film is going to be created by writer-director Andrew Stanton, who is behind “WALL-E” and “Finding Nemo” and it will be co-directed by McKenna Harris and produced by Jessica Choi.
“Toy Story 5” is going to be released only in cinemas on June 19th, 2026 and it will be coming to Disney+ in late 2026. You can find the previous four “Toy Story” movies, along with many animated shorts including “Forky Asks A Question” on Disney+.
