Back before the release of “Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny”, Disney was able to secure the streaming rights for Disney+ to the first four “Indiana Jones” movies, which include:

  • Indiana Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Ark
  • Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom
  • Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade
  • Indiana Jones And The Crystal Skull

While Disney acquired the rights to Indiana Jones when it purchased Lucasfilm, Paramount Pictures still has the distribution rights to the first four films.

Sadly, today, those classic “Indiana Jones” films have now been removed from Disney+ around the world.

The good news is that “Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny” is still available since that was distributed by Walt Disney Studios.  As is the making of documentary about the latest film.

Roger’s Take:  It’s certainly unfortunate that these great films have been removed from Disney+ and that the licensing deal that was agreed was much shorter than I would have expected.  Hopefully, one day, the classic “Indiana Jones” films will return, but it’s going to be down to if Paramount is willing to license them and, more importantly, if Disney is willing to pay for the rights to stream them on Disney+.
