Disney has announced that the Searchlight Pictures’ film, “Chevalier”, will be coming out in cinemas in the United Kingdom and Ireland on Friday, 9th June 2023.

Inspired by the incredible true story of composer Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. The illegitimate son of an African slave and a French plantation owner, Bologne (Kelvin Harrison Jr. in a tour de force performance) rises to improbable heights in French society as a celebrated violinist-composer and fencer, complete with an ill-fated love affair and a falling out with Marie Antoinette (Lucy Boynton) and her court. The film stars Kelvin Harrison Jr., Samara Weaving, Lucy Boynton, Marton Csokas, Alex Fitzalan, and Minnie Driver.

The film is being released in the US and Canada on Friday, 21st April 2023.  It will have a gradual international rollout, which will include a release in Australia and New Zealand on 18th May 2023.  The staggered international release will no doubt result in the Disney+ release across these countries varying too.
