Here’s my social media reaction:
#bostonstrangler is a solid true-crime thriller that I really enjoyed. This is an easy recommendation to anyone who loves a good murder mystery. It's got a great cast & the story kept me intrigued throughout.

And here are some other critics’ responses to the film:
Keira Knightley and Carrie Coon make #BostonStrangler engaging enough to keep you watching, but the film itself refuses to commit to any of the interesting angles it presents. The result is a by-the-numbers true crime story. pic.twitter.com/5iKeXgDkef

#BostonStrangler is… fine.
The highlights are Keira Knightly & Carrie Coon & the film does a great job of showing how important it is to have women in the newsroom.
Unfortunately, the film winds up feeling like a dull version of ‘Zodiac’. pic.twitter.com/J8DKuCDiZx

While so many stories these days are glorifying serial killers, #BostonStrangler places the emphasis not on the murders, but the amazing women telling the story. @carriecoon & Keira Knightley have amazing chemistry. This shit was not good.
Felt like a film made in 2015 with the objective of trying to be as cliched as possible. The only guidance was “some women don’t get treated nicely at work” and it was super reductive to McLaughlin’s efforts. Do not watch #BostonStrangler https://t.co/idcETbtarQ

#BostonStrangler explores the work of the reporters who broke the titular case. Keira Knightley and Carrie Coon both give great performances! The movie is structured well, but it’s missing the stakes, emotions & horror of true crime.

BOSTON STRANGLER is an interesting crime thriller based on real events that instead of the killer, focuses on the women journalists who broke the story and are rarely credited. Strong performances from both Keira Knightley & Carrie Coon. It'll make you curious.#BostonStrangler pic.twitter.com/ow4qnVcxcG

Despite the film’s title, #BostonStrangler isn’t primarily about the murders. The film tells the compelling story of Loretta McLaughlin and her rise as a successful news reporter and the sexism challenges she faced. An excellent film with a very powerful message. @20thcentury pic.twitter.com/CubFFxc7a7
