With the start of a brand new month, Disney is releasing plenty of new original shows that will be heading to Disney+ and Hulu in May, including new episodes of two brand new Star Wars shows, plus the return of “Doctor Who” and “Welcome To Wrexham”. There will also be some new shows from National Geographic and FX.

The biggest new releases coming to Disney+ around the world in May include:


Andor: A Star Wars Story – Season 2

The story of Rebel spy Cassian Andor’s formative years of the Rebellion and his difficult missions for the cause. Season 2 follows Cassian as he evolves into a leader for the emerging Rebel Alliance and becomes fueled by a higher purpose in the fight for freedom against the Empire.

Three new episodes will be released each week on Disney+ around the world on the first two Tuesday’s in May at 6pm PT/9pm ET.


Doctor Who – Season 2

The Doctor meets Belinda Chandra and begins an epic quest to get her back to Earth. But a mysterious force is stopping their return and the time-traveling TARDIS team must face great dangers, bigger enemies and wider terrors than ever before.

Episode drops every Saturday at 2:00 a.m. PDT / 3:00 a.m. EDT on Disney+ around the world, except for in the UK, where it’s available on the BBC iPlayer.


Star Wars: Tales Of The Underworld

This series of six shorts focuses on the criminal underbelly of the Star Wars galaxy through the experiences of two iconic villains. Former assassin and bounty hunter Asajj Ventress is given a new chance at life and must go on the run with an unexpected new ally, while outlaw Cad Bane faces his past when he confronts an old friend, now a Marshal on the opposite side of the law.

This new original animated series arrives on Disney+ on May 4th!


Tucci In Italy

The five-part series follows Tucci on a visually stunning and deeply personal exploration of the country’s breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and the complex connections with its food that have shaped each region’s distinct culture and, of course, their iconic pasta.

This new original series from National Geographic arrives on Monday, 19th May 2025.


Minnie’s Bow Tunes Pet Hotel

In the new shorts, Minnie, Daisy and Cuckoo-Loca open a brand-new pet hotel in Hot Dog Hills, complete with a spa and salon where they pamper the pets; a yoga studio where Clarabelle teaches yoga lessons to all of the pet guests; a stage for evening pet-tertainment; and a gourmet kitchen where Minnie and Daisy whip together healthy snacks for their hotel guests.

This new animated series starts on Disney+ around the world on Tuesday, 20th May 2025


Genghis Khan: The Secret History of the Mongols

A fearless warrior and ruthless conqueror, Genghis Khan’s epic rise and the Mongolian Empire’s incredible expansion are brought to thrilling life in this six-part series. Drawing on a new translation of “The Secret History of the Mongols,” the series reveals stunning insights into the life and many battles of the legendary ruler known widely as Genghis Khan.

All six episodes will be released on Disney+ and Hulu in the United States on Friday, 2nd May 2025

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives – Season 2

The scandalous world of Mormon #MomTok is back and bigger than ever! When an original swinger from their infamous sex scandal makes a surprise return, friendships threaten to unravel as secrets, lies and allegations explode. In a battle for the soul of #MomTok, will betrayal shatter the sisterhood, or will the truth set them free?

The second season will be released on Thursday, 15th May 2025


Welcome To Wrexham – Season 4

Rob McElhenney (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) and Ryan Reynolds (“Deadpool”) navigate running the 3rd oldest professional football club in the world. “Welcome to Wrexham” is a docuseries tracking the dreams and worries of Wrexham, a working-class city in North Wales, UK, as two Hollywood stars guide the future of their historic Club.

The new season arrives on Friday, 16th May 2025 with two new episodes, followed by weekly releases of new episodes.


FX’s Adults

FX’s “Adults” is an ensemble comedy series about a group of twenty-somethings in New York trying to be good people, despite being neither “good” nor “people” yet. Samir, Billie, Paul Baker, Issa and Anton are five friends crashing together in Samir’s childhood home, where they share their meals, anxieties and, occasionally, toothbrushes. The show puts a slightly heightened twist on the wins, losses and humiliations of starting out in the adult world. Whether they’re trying to get ahead at work, navigating the healthcare system, hosting a dinner party or dating in the age of Find My Friends, the group is finding that nothing about the real world is simple, and all their best intentions tend to make things worse. These friends are works-in-progress, brimming with bad ideas and whatever their latest “theory of adulthood” might be. But there’s one thing they consistently get right: showing up for each other.

The first two episodes of this new series from FX premiere on Thursday, 29th May 2025.


Nine Puzzles

After discovering the body of her murdered uncle, Yoon Ena becomes a profiler to uncover the truth behind what happened that night. A decade later, Detective Hansaem still suspects Ena was responsible, and when a series of murders begins to occur, each linked to a corresponding puzzle piece, Hansaem will follow his instincts to track down the killer.

This new Korean original series arrives on Wednesday, 21st May 2025.


The Stolen Girl

A seemingly ordinary decision turns the world of Elisa, mum to two young kids, upside down in this tense thriller. When her 9-year-old daughter Lucia excitedly asks to go on an overnight playdate with her new best friend Josie, Elisa agrees. After meeting Josie’s mother, Rebecca, she’s put at ease by her charming nature and their impressive house. But when she says goodnight to her daughter, she has no idea that she is about to be thrust into every parent’s worst nightmare.

The next day, when Elisa goes to pick up Lucia, she discovers that the beautiful house was a holiday rental. Lucia is missing. Rebecca and Josie have vanished. What started out as her daughter’s first sleepover has turned into an abduction.

As an urgent manhunt unfolds across Europe, Elisa and her husband Fred find themselves the object of police and public scrutiny. Elisa’s perfect family begins to unravel under the pressure, and long-buried secrets come to light. Rebecca took Lucia for a reason. And as viewers learn more about the tangled lives of these women, the question of whether Rebecca was justified in kidnapping the little girl arises – and if she might be better off staying hidden.

A new episode is being released each Thursday on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ and on Disney+ in Canada.


Kun by Agüero (Kun Por Agüero)

“Kun by Agüero” tells the story of Sergio Agüero, starting from his humble origins to his sporting success, ending with his early retirement due to a heart arrhythmia. With never-before-seen footage and interviews with those who know him best, this intimate portrait reveals for the first time the conflictive relationship Sergio has with his father, and the most difficult decisions he had to face.

This new original Latin American series arrives on Wednesday, 7th May 2025.
