Atsuko Okatsuka Stand-Up Special Coming Soon To Hulu & Disney+
Disney continues to slowly build up its stand-up comedy offerings with its new “Hularious” brand, which launches in November with a brand new special from Jim Gaffigan, followed by specials by Bill Burr, Roy Wood Jr. and Ilana Glazer.
Today, Disney has announced a brand new stand-up special by comedian Atsuko Okatsuka will be released on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ internationally.
The upcoming special will be recorded at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on Saturday, November 9th, 2024, as part of her 2024 Full Grown Tour, which kicks off later this month and includes 200 dates across the United States and Canada.
Disney hasn’t announced the title for this upcoming special or when it will arrive on Hulu and Disney+, though it’s likely to be in 2025.
Comedian Atsuko Okatsuka said in a statement regarding the new special:
“As a company that pioneered cartoons, it was only a matter of time until they asked to work with me. I mean look at me. I rock a bowl cut and wear bright colors. I am Toon Town. Excited to bring good times and shenanigans to the people of the world with the Disney/Hulu family.”
Atsuko Okatsukaha previously starred in “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”, “Room 104” and “History of the World: Part II”. She also previously made a stand-up special for HBO called “The Intruder”.
