One of the many Marvel Studios shows currently in post-production for Disney+, is “Ironheart”, which will star Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor who builds her own advanced suit of armour and follows in Iron Man’s footsteps, who was recently introduced in the film, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”.
This new Marvel series will also star Alden Ehrenreich, Manny Montana, Sonia Denis, Anthony Ramos, Regan Aliyah, Rashida “Sheedz” Olayiwola, Shakira Barrera, Harper Anthony, Cree Summer, Zoe Terakes, Shea Couleé, Paul Calderón and Lyric Ross. Sacha Baron Cohen will also be starring in the film as a villain, which is likely to be Mephisto.
Deadline is reporting that Anji White will star in the upcoming Disney+ show, where she will be playing Riri’s mom, Ronnie.
Anji White has previously starred in the fourth season of FX’s “Fargo” and in the 20th Television series, “The Chi” Other credits include “4400”, “Empire”, “Chicago Med” and “Chicago P.D.”
The six-episode series is being directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes, with Ryan Coogler’s Proximity among the production entities. The show’s head writer is Chinaka Hodge, and it is being executive produced by Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, and Sev Ohanian, alongside Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, and Zoie Nagelhout.
“Ironheart” was scheduled to arrive on Disney+ in Fall 2023, but it has been pushed back into 2024.
