“American Hustlers” In Development For Hulu

Disney is developing a brand new drama series called “American Hustlers”, which is inspired by the popular true crime podcast and the book ‘Until Someone Gets Hurt’ by Sherrie Lueder.

The new series chronicles the exploits of Kuashal Niroula and Danny Garcia as they are roped into an impressive group of eccentric, like-minded con artists to form the ‘gay grifters’ swindling a bevvy of unsuspecting victims out of millions in cash and property over a decade plus. Even when they escalated to murder, they seemed unstoppable… until one unassuming everyman — Tyson Wrensch — decided to quit his job and devote his life to bringing them to justice.

According to Variety, the new project is being developed by Warner Bros Television for Hulu and is being written by Jim Campolongo, who previously worked on “The Blacklist,” and “The Sandman”.

Rachel Kaplan (“La Brea,” “Our Boys”), via Absecon Entertainment, and Alex Beattie (“HAPPYish,” “Outsourced”) are going to be executive producers on the project. Stacey Book, through Frequency Machine, is going to be consulting on the project as an executive consultant.

No other details on the upcoming series, such as who will star in it, or when it will be released on Hulu/Disney+ internationally.
