One of the many shows currently in development for Disney+ is “Echo”, which stars Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, aka Echo, who was introduced in the Marvel Studios series, “Hawkeye”. This new series will tell the origin story of Echo and revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behaviour in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.

“Echo” also stars Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin, and Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, along with Chaske Spencer (“Wild Indian,” “The English”), Tantoo Cardinal (“Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Stumptown”), Devery Jacobs (FX’s “Reservation Dogs,” “American Gods”) and Cody Lightning (“Hey, Viktor!” “Four Sheets to the Wind”), with Graham Greene (“1883,” “Goliath”) and Zahn McClarnon (“Dark Winds,” FX’s “Reservation Dogs”).

At last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios’ president announced that the Disney+ Original series, “Echo”, would be coming to Disney+ in the summer of 2023. However, Disney is looking to make $3 billion dollars worth of cost savings and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has said that they will be slowing down the pace on new releases, with only “Secret Invasion” and the second season of “Loki” confirmed for a release in 2023.

This has resulted in some questions being raised about when “Echo” would be released, especially after “Echo’s” showrunner Marion Dayre, said last year, that the show could release around early 2024.

Recently, Echo actress Alaqua Cox took to social media and said she couldn’t wait for October:

“Can October hurry tf up and get here already”

While this Tweet is rather vague and could be in reference to anything, it has led to speculation that “Echo” might get released in October, which might be a little later than originally planned, but better than in 2024.  But when asked by fans if she was referring to “Echo”, she simply replied with two zipped mouth emojis!

With “The Marvels” recently being delayed until November 10th 2023, if “Echo” was to be released at the start of October on Disney+, then it is possible the series could make it out without overlapping.
