Alan Carr & Amanda Holden Join Pixar’s “Hoppers” Cast

One of the great little things Disney often does with its animated films, is bring in local guests to provide the voices of some of the characters, to localise the film to the target audience.

Today, Disney has announced that Alan Carr & Amanda Holden have joined the cast of the new Pixar comedy adventure film, “Hoppers”, where they will play ‘Alan the Squirrel’ and ‘Amanda the Spider’, who assist Mabel (Piper Curda) on her newfound adventure as a Beaver.

In Disney and Pixar’s all-new animated comedy adventure “Hoppers,” animal lover Mabel (voice of Piper Curda) seizes an opportunity to use a new technology to ‘hop’ her consciousness into a life-like robotic beaver and communicate directly with animals. As she uncovers mysteries in the animal world beyond anything she could have imagined, Mabel befriends charismatic beaver, King George (voice of Bobby Moynihan), and must rally the entire animal kingdom to face a major, imminent human-threat: smooth-talking local mayor Jerry Generazzo (voice of Jon Hamm). The all-star voice ensemble also features Kathy Najimy, Dave Franco and Meryl Streep.

Speaking on her role in the upcoming Disney and Pixar release, Amanda Holden said in a statement:

‘I’m thrilled to join the voice cast for the all-new original film Hoppers from the legendary Animation studio. When Disney calls, you answer!’

UK Traitors winner, Alan Carr, also said the following about joining the Pixar family, saying

‘I couldn’t be happier jumping into the recording booth to take on the role of Alan the Squirrel. Being in a Pixar film is a dream come true and can’t wait for audiences to enjoy our characters on the big screen’.

“Hoppers” is directed by Daniel Chong and produced by Nicole Paradis Grindle, with an original score by Mark Mothersbaugh.

Recently, it was announced that Alan Carr was filming a brand new series for Disney+ called “Castle Man”.

The film opens exclusively in UK & Irish cinemas on March 6th, 2026 and will be coming to Disney+ later this year.

Roger’s Take:   I think getting Alan Carr in for a special cameo for the British version of “Hoppers” is a great move, especially as he already has so much experience as a voice actor, having previously starred as a Seagull in “The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water“!   It’s great timing for Disney to bring Alan in on this adventure since he is riding high following his recent appearance on “The Traitors”, plus Amanda is one of the most popular hosts in the UK, so this seems like a great fit.
