Disney’s ABC has ordered a new pilot from 20th Television for a new legal soap called “Judgement”, which is being created by Joey Falco, who will be writing and executive producing the project.  Joey has previously written for “Sleepy Hollow” and “Heroes Reborn”.

The new series will play out over two timelines. Fifteen years from now, a woman being vetted for a Supreme Court seat recounts her experience at a prominent D.C. law firm in 2023, where the only thing more controversial than the cases was her messy love life, caught between two feuding brothers. Now, with a Supreme Court seat on the line, all of her darkest secrets are at risk of coming out, threatening her nomination, her reputation, and her marriage.

According to Deadline, Melvin Mar, Jake Kasdan, and Jordan Cerf are also executive producing alongside Joey Falco.

Disney’s ABC has a number of pilots in development and, earlier this year, revealed that it has changed its plans for its pilot system, introducing first and second-cycle development routes to create content for fall and midseasons.   This also spreads out pilot development throughout the year.

Should the”Judgement” pilot get picked up for a season, it’s likely to be released on the ABC network and on Hulu in the United States, with an international release as a Star Original on Disney+.
