Disney’s ABC has ordered a new true-crime unscripted series, “Who Do You Believe?”, which is being created by All3Media-owned producer Lime Pictures, who have also produce “The Only Way Is Essex” and “Hollyoaks”.

The series uses simultaneous storytelling to take viewers through compelling true crime cases from dual perspectives. In each episode, the audience steps into the shoes of two contrasting narratives to hear the recounts directly from the victims and criminals with never-before-revealed details. Then the viewer plays armchair detective to deduce and piece together different versions of the truth. There are two sides to every story – and there’s no telling how far one would go for their marriage, child, or way of life.

Lime Studio’s Managing Director, Claire Poyse told Deadline:

“The UK is the biggest exporter of formats globally and for a while now we’ve underperformed in terms of making the most of our brilliant format development teams.  The real focus now is on the global audience.”

Alex Weresow, will be the showrunner on the project and has previously executive produced “Leah Remini: Scientology” and the “Aftermath”.

The series is being executive produced by Lime Studios Head of Unscripted Programming Sarah Tyekiff and EVP, Unscripted Ben Crompton exec produce alongside Weresow. Suzanne Ali is a co-executive producer on the show.

No international Disney+ release has been announced, but Disney has licensed All3Media for Disney+ already and only earlier this week announced they were creating a new documentary called Endurance for Nat Geo/Disney+.
